The SEC is at it again, flexing its regulatory muscles by threatening enforcement action against yet another crypto project.

This time, the target is Uniswap, a popular decentralized cryptocurrency exchange.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) alleges that Uniswap may have violated securities laws by facilitating the trading of unregistered securities (cryptocurrencies).

This dispute highlights the ongoing regulatory uncertainty surrounding cryptocurrencies and decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms, with the only solution to the numerous legal battles (Binance, Coinbase, Ripple, etc.) being greater regulation and education 🙏.

Why does Blackrock run a Tokenization Fund?

Where Blackrock goes in, the money flows in - By 2030, tokenized assets will become a $10T market (according to 21.co).

The use case of tokenizing real-world assets (RWA) is not only a hype, but becomes reality. Larry Fink also recognizes the potential. Blackrock's new fund "BUIDL" is the talk of the town and has raised over $280 million in capital from investors in just a few weeks.

What are tokenized RWAs?

It is the representation of a physical asset as a token. Such as gold, commodities, or real estate, etc.

👉 One of the main advantage of tokenization is the reduction of costs for brokers and intermediaries, along having a lower entry barrier.

Other Benefits are:

• Unlocked liquidity in the secondary market

• Transparency through blockchain

• Automated trading via smart contracts

How is the physical data reflected in the digital token? Let's assume you have tokenized your property. Now the price of your property increases by 20%, so the token associated with your property should also increase by 20%, right?

To distribute this information via the blockchain, you need so-called oracles. One popular oracle is Chainlink.

About BUIDL:

It operates on the Ethereum blockchain and addresses institutional investors with a minimum commitment of 5 million. Coinbase provides the infrastructure.

“Securitize is proud to be BlackRock’s transfer agent, tokenization platform and placement agent of choice in digitizing and expanding access to its investment products,” said Securitize co-founder and CEO Carlos Domingo.

The fund targets a stable token value of $1 and distributes monthly dividends in the form of new tokens. Its assets consist exclusively of cash, US government bonds and repurchase agreements.

🥜 To put it in a nutshell: This fund offers the advantage of easy, transparent, and secure investment in stable assets, with the added benefit of receiving monthly dividends directly to your wallet, without additional action required.

BUIDL Takeover Public Securities

Blackrock has already taken over the security token market with a market share of over 41% and rising.

Its biggest competitors are Ondo Finance with a market share of just under 23% and Mountain Protocol with just under 12%.

🤓 However, Ondo has re-allocated $95 Million of their funds into BUIDL.

Monad - The New Solana Competitor? 😳

Monad is a new blockchain project that aims to scale the performance of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and has received $225 million in funding.

While Ethereum is the leading blockchain platform, it struggles with low transaction speeds and high fees. Monad wants to solve these issues.

It is fully compatible with Ethereum. This means any existing Ethereum apps can easily run on Monad without changing code. You can also use tools like MetaMask with Monad. However, Monad promises to be much faster and can handle way more transactions than Ethereum.

Here's a comparison:

The key difference is that Monad uses something called "pipelined architecture" which allows it to do many things in parallel. This helps it go much faster than Ethereum.

😅 Even though it sounds super technical - to put it simply: Monad's high speed could make it hard for some people to run full nodes. But overall, it has huge potential to take decentralized apps to the next level by solving Ethereum's scaling issues.

The first Web3 Handheld Console 🎮

Web3 gaming in your hands - that's the promise of the SuiPlay0x1.

Made possible by a collaboration between Playtron and Mysten Labs, the Sui network has unveiled its own console.

There is currently still little information about it, the launch is planned for 2025 and the price is said to be "incredibly good" according to those responsible.

The console will be automatically connected to a Sui Wallet and will primarily focus on games that integrate the Sui blockchain, but games from other chains will also be added.

Whether the console will launch as successfully as the Web3 mobile phone from Solana, to be continued…
