😇 Telefónica and Chainlink Make Web3 Safe and Easy

Web3 has had a big problem with keeping things safe. Now, Telefónica and Chainlink are working together to solve this.

  • What's happening? 

  • Telefónica is teaming up with Chainlink Labs. They're using Chainlink's tools to safely link smart contracts with something called the GSMA Open Gateway API.

GSMA Open Gateway API is like a set of rules that lets phone services share information safely, making it easier for blockchain apps to understand and use mobile network data.

🫡 Roles:

Telefónica: Provides safe access to mobile data through the GSMA Open Gateway API.

Chainlink: Connects this data securely to Web3, ensuring everything is safe and matches up.

Previous Problem: SIM Swap fraud - This means they're making sure no one can pretend to be you by changing the SIM card in your phone without you knowing.

👉 This stops thieves from taking over your digital assets by swapping your SIM card.

What to expect: Developers get new tools to build secure Web3 apps, thanks to Chainlink's technology and Telefónica's network.

👉 Expect safer interactions and safer holding of assets.

📺 Where Netflix meets Web3

Netflix is stepping into Web3 with the show "Black Mirror," creating digital experiences where viewers can interact in new ways.

The first experience, "Smile Club 😁", asks users to smile to earn points, based on the "Nosedive" episode's social credit system.

These digital experiences offer interactive storytelling, digital ownership, community involvement, and rewards.

It's all happening on Base (Layer2 by Coinbase) and is supported by Animoca Brands, inviting fans to dive deeper into the "Black Mirror" universe with unique quests and challenges.

👝 a16z's $100 Million Bet on Eigen Labs

The development studio Eigen Labs, responsible for one of the top narratives in crypto right now ✨Restaking✨ received a huge funding from Andreessen Horowitz for their series B round.

Why the hype? 🤔

The problem EigenLayer tackles head-on is the scalability trilemma - a fancy term for a blockchain's balancing act between security, scalability, and decentralization. Often, improving one aspect means compromising another.

EigenLayer is a recycler's dream in the blockchain universe. It reuses the security of established blockchains (think Ethereum) to build new and exciting layers on top.

Instead of setting up its own security guards (validators), it borrows them from Ethereum. These validators can stake their assets not just on Ethereum but also on EigenLayer, creating a shared security model that's like having a neighborhood watch program where everyone's looking out for each other, making the entire area safer.

What makes EigenLayer really cool is how it lets these apps use Ethereum's strong security without the big fees. It also helps apps talk to each other quicker and cheaper with a part called EigenDA.

What is being built on EigenLayer?

On EigenLayer, developers are building a variety of innovative protocols. These include tools for secure communication between different blockchain networks, efficient management of transactions, and access to off-chain data.

Additionally, there are advancements in areas like artificial intelligence, encryption technologies, and secure computing environments.
